Long tailed lizards come from southern asia and require a warm humid environment.
They can be housed with other small tropical lizards a good choice are Green Anole, Green tree frog, Common House Gecko.
Terrarium; a 10 gallon terrarium is recommended for 1 Long tailed lizard, but a 20 gallon or la
larger is good for 2 to 3 lizards.
A taller terrarium is recommended as this lizard likes to climb. remmember to use a screen lid with the terrarium.
Long tailed lizards require a temperature gradient from each side of the terrarium to regulate their body temperature. Temperatures in the habitat should vary from daytime to nighttime.
Heating; The habitat should have two thermometers one on the warm side one on the cool side, and a hydrometer to monitor humidity levels.
The basking spot should be the warmest point in the habitat during the day. heat should be provided by a high wattage heat bulb placed directly above the basking spot. at night the heat lamp should be turned off.
Humidity; 50 to 80 percent is good you can provide this by spraying inside of the terrarium with a spray bottle that has never been used for anything else. or one bought at a pet store.
Day cool area; 75 to 85 degrees. Day basking spot; 85 to 90 degrees.
Lighting; Long tailed lizards are Diurnal, meaning they are most active during the day. use a day time uvb bulb, and a heat bulb bought from local pet store's for about 10 to 12 hours a day.
